Dave's first week of class and our first week as a family in a tiny space is now complete. Let's take a moment to review, shall we?
Praise. The. Lord. there is another guy in our hotel in Dave's class so they carpool everyday. And by carpool I mean the other guy drives. It's awesome. He is married but without kids and they were so sweet to offer to take Dave to class most days so that the girls and I can have a car. Fantastic!
Dave's first week at class was also a huge success. Most people dread coming to Alabama for this and then whine and complain the whole time. We were determined to have a different attitude. He's actually really enjoying it; I mean who doesn't want to get paid to do team building activities, work out and learn how to be a better leader? It's a sweet deal.
The girls and I are doing well; adjusting to life in a smaller space is challenging but it also has its rewards. Less space to clean, new things to go do and see, it's not so bad. It took Norah a few nights to get adjusted to the new space and we are still figuring out how to get Dave up in the morning without waking up the rest of the room with an alarm, but we're figuring it out. Also, we have a "surface water drainage" (Dave's technical terms here) in our "backyard" and there are some ducks there that Norah loves to watch!

This last weekend we ventured out to a state park and hiked down to some waterfalls. The guy at the entrance told me the hike would be STRAIGHT down but I just politely nodded, thinking that the Alabama version and the Colorado version of straight down would be different. He was correct, STRAIGHT down it was. Luckily it was less than a quarter mile to the falls so it was no big deal. Little Miss Abigayle takes after the Grandmother she was named after and soaked up the sun and some sleep. Norah had fun hiking around with her Daddy. After that we went over to the "beach" and a playground for lunch. We had some wonderful family time in the outdoors of Alabama.

Gee Whiz -- so many adorable pictures telling the tales of the Jackson clan in Alabama! I could comment on every picture but will try to limit myself to a few...Love the pink 'hiking' flip flops, Abby's bea-u-ti-ful eyes whatever color they are (will be), Norha's hand on the hip pose - Priceless, Abby's love of sleep and sun -- soooo Gayle!, Daddy and Norah pose - stick out your tongue for fun!, and Norah's big big Norah smile on the swings (I can hear the laughter)!
