This past weekend we wanted to take our girls to the beach. We are 3 hours away and we couldn't pass up the opportunity of giving them this first experience. Needless to say going to the beach with two babies is a tad different than going as two adults. There is no time to just kick back and lay around and there is a ton of stuff you have to bring. We had a great time though! This was Norah's first experience with any kind of sandbox so once we showed her how to play with the sand she was hooked.

Norah had no interest sticking her little toes in the water but Abby was willing to give it a try!
After playing in the sand for a while we decided to walk out on the pier and watch people fish. We had a good time walking on the pier and Norah really enjoyed looking at the water from above it. She also loved waving at all the fisherman and pushing Abby in the stroller. "Norah do it" is a phrase we hear quite frequently these days.

After nap time we had to head back to the beach for a little more time in the sand.

Yummy!
Norah thought it would be fun to put sand on Abby's legs. She was also our official "look out", always making sure the ocean stayed where it should.
I treasure this little weekend trip. As a child I always loved it when my parents took us to the beach and I am so glad I got to pass that on to my daughters. Seeing them look at the ocean and play in the sand melted my heart. Wonderful memories.
